My consultation was also with Stephanie. She joked that I wasn't one of the usual fatties that comes in and that I just needed to have a little bit of fat removed. It didn't feel very "medical" because she said that I was a great candidate without asking if I had any medical conditions or asking about my medical history, etc. She just sort of looked at the areas, that was it.
I don't remember the name of the actual person who performed the procedure. He was an African American gentleman. Dr. Bittner stepped into the room for a brief moment and said that I was doing great, then he left. I was so heavily medicated that I literally don't remember anything after that, not getting dressed, or having a photo taken, or getting home.
- I went back in because I wanted to get a touch up. Again, my appointment time was screwed up. This time I met with Jonathan who examined my results. He agreed that I could come in for a touch up around me belly button, but tried to keep my expectations low.
However, I am not happy with the results for my upper and lower abdomen. While the results are smooth, it now looks like I have a doughnut around my belly button. Due to loose skin I have a flap that hangs down over my belly button and then some puffiness around the lower area. Dr. Bittner did warn me that there might be some loose skin so I feel that I can't be totally upset about this result. I did try to go back to have a touch-up, but there was NO change at all. -Annonymous 12/2/08
....2007 I had a procedure done by his "staff" (inner and outer thights, love handles and pubic area). I finaly met dr bittner 10 minutes before they started the procedure! he marked all my body and his wife/girlfriend gave me medication. After a few minutes I was "tipsy". She started injecting fluids in me. I remember having pain and I complained about it so they gave me the "laughing gas". I was very drowsy but I remember that I never saw Dr. Bittner again. I never had so much pain in my life like I did after that day. A full month in pain. Numbness for 3 months. I was very unhappy with the results. Not all of them, but most! After 6 months I went for my 6 months appt and Dr. Bittner didn't see me. Trevor did. The left side of my outer thighs is all lumpy and weird as my pubic area is too....... I am also a "victim" of Dr. Bittner. ....my mistakes aren't as bad as the ones you had..... BUT it's still really ugly. i have asked for my files. they have been VERY weird about sending me info. i do not trust them.....also the adit marks are huge, not at all like what they have on their website. -CA 11/13/08
......dr.did not perform the surgery instead it was trevor who did the surgery....and that gal kyle did all the injections,then dr.bittner did my face,and really messed up on it.......... he stated that is how your body heals ,i am more upset that he advertised my before and after photos on his web site without my consent.........i requested for my medical records again no response......so i really don't know what's gonna happen .....the funny thing was his x wife......opened a hair laser center right across the street where i live at and he had came up here and did some lipo here for 2 weeks, and then she closed her doors. i don't know what happened and that was like right after i had my lipo.what a small world.I asked him and he said oh yeah i was there doing some lipos.--CG 1/09

I too- along with a friend- have both been left with lumpy stomachs- and both had one revision- which did little to correct the lumps we are now left with.......dr bittner blamed it on "thin skin"....I assumed I was left to deal with the ugliness..I researched lawsuits on the California medical board website before I committed to do the original surgery in early 2007..there was no record of anything at that time..and I am sad to hear that we are not the only ones out there- but somewhat happy to hear it was NOT the healing issues- it was the procedure; the unlicensed staff allowed to take part in any of it.. I had surgery from Dr. Bittners office ..... I got pubic, tail bone, luv handles, and my bra rolls done. All the places I felt I just couldn't work out. The total of the surgery cost $6600.00. It was the most horrifying experience of my life but I honestly thought that is how it was supposed to go. As I read your story..... I realized that mine was almost exactly like yours.
When I went to my consultation Dr Bittner met with me and basically made fun of me in my pubic area saying, "Yes your definetly packing a lot there arent you?" and I felt so insulted but I tried to play it off and be friendly and said yes I dont want people to think Im a guy in girls clothing and he just laughed and gave me a look like ya your right. I went home crying thinking I needed the procedure now more than ever. I even told my boyfriend and he said they probably just do that to make you feel worse so you can for sure get the surgery done. Dont worry about it.
I went to the procedure ....never even saw Dr. Bittner until about an hour later...... (he) came in and drew on me with a marker and took pictures. I was given a xanax i think and some other pill ......Then out of nowhere without even warning me he gives me a shot in different parts of my back. ....again out of nowhere he started stabbing me again and again. It hurt so bad the tears just started pouring out. im even crying right now when im writing this ugh this so bad sorry okay. So he kept doing it and just telling me to relax and asking me about myself. It hurt so bad........ I started screaming to please stop that I couldnt take it and they started yelling back to not move. By this time another guy his name was Jonathan ........and a young girl who like my surgeon I had never seen before on the website. I kept screaming and crying so loud and they kept shutting me up and finally the girl put the mask on me. I started trying my best to breathe in. The pain didnt stop but i just felt nauseous and like my body went numb. Its like I could feel everything they were doing to me but I couldnt move my arms to make them stop or even talk correctly to tell them how much it hurt. I could hear myself and my words were all slurred. then the gas would run out and while Jonathan and the girl were changing the cannisters or putting more, whichever, i would regain some control and kept trying to put my leg up to stop them. they would yell not to put my leg up. I was so scared Susan and it sounds stupid but i honestly felt like i was dying. I........ The rest of the surgery i kept slipping in and out of consciousness and dont remember too much. But I clearly remember hearing (never seeing) Dr. Bittner coming in at one time and saying your doing great and whispering something to the guy doing this horrible thing to me.
After my surgery ...... i was wheeled off to a small closet size room with a bowl full of granola bars and sitting upright in a chair that was inclined. ......They wheeled me to the backdoor and my boyfriend had to help me walk the block and half to the car in the parking structure. I was in so much pain that every step felt like someone was stabbing and punching me with a sludge hammer and it pinched. They gave me my take home "goodie bag" with a bunch of maxi pads for your period (the big over night ones) cut in half, a granola bar, and one puppy pee pad........also some pink pills i think it was darvoset that made me so sick i was throwing up later.
I was so swollen from it and I never actually lost the "almost 12 lbs" they took out from me on the scale even to this day. I paid an extra $3000 something to have them do my bra rolls and there honeslty was no different from before and after surgery. I was never called for my follow up check up and never sent the letter that is posted on your site from dr. bittner.
......... and my doctor did call to check up on me afterwards where as dr. bittner did not......... yet today there is almost no difference i just have scars from the sites where they made the cuts for the sculpting tubes and Im in debt $6600 for the next 5 years to pay it off. I thought this surgery would give me more self esteem but it all it honestly did was give me horrible memories that when i think about it makes me physically ill to my stomach and/or I start crying when i think about it. That pain and the thoughts running through my head when i was all gassed up will never leave me and I still have nitemares about it. ........i didnt know that there were other patients out there that this happened too and it was wrong. - A 11/26/08
My results are good and I healed over 3 months, in all the areas Dr. Bittner did himself. My abdomen, which the PA did, is still, 6 months later, lumpy, tender and I get a random pain deep, near the right side of my belly button from time to time. Dr, Bittner's office keeps telling me to give it more time......-CM 11/30/08
I had my procedure on November 13th, one day before his office was officially raided......
I am extremely unhappy because like so many people, had no idea that the person that actually performed my procedure was and is not a licensed medical doctor. It took him three times to "deaden" me if you will because I was feeling EVERYTHING that was happening to me; plus had to give me an extra shot of something in my arm.
......., I don't have dips and dimples, I have quite the opposite...about the same amount of fat I had prior to the procedure.-annonymous 4/3/09
.... I could have written your same story, as my experience was very much the same. I thought because he was in Beverly Hills, he must be good. I asked if he was board certified and was told yes. My mistake, I didn't ask him what field he was board certified in...... I had lipo in 2006. I had my neck done, my face (he talked me into it, said I had jowels), my back, and my inner and outer thighs. He left my neck with hanging skin, he left ridges in my face and each side is not asymmetrical, and he removed too much fact and left me gaunt looking, and it looks 10 times worse than before surgery. You can't even tell anything was done to my back, and he left my inner thighs bowed, so I look bow legged......... It was very very painful, but I endured it. The injections of what I believe was lidocaine were also very painful. Then he told me it was OK to drive home right after surgery. I drove from Beverly Hills to ******* and its a wonder that I made it! It was like I was driving drunk! I think it was from the pills I was asked to take before surgery.
Fast forward to 2009 present day, and I decided I want to have ******** surgery. .......... the preoperative blood tests this doctor did, came out positive for Hepatitis C. You get that from dirty needles and blood transfusions. I have never taken drugs, never had a blood transfusion and I am the most unlikely candidate to have Hep-C. I believe I got it from Dr. Bitner from either dirty needles used for the numbing injections, or from dirty scalples.---DC 3/6/09
