PUNISHMENT /WHAT YOU CAN DO:

FILE A COMPLAINT!: Although the medical board is not interviewing
new witnesses at this time, you do need to file a complaint now in
order to go on record. Your information could be vitally important
in the future. Print forms and information here.

Bittner
flees the country: Fleeing the country does not mean that charges will be dropped. The
attorneys involved and the Medical Board will still pursue their
case and are dedicated to seeing that any and all punishment, restrictions
and resolutions possible are applied. The best way to help is to spread the word, post this URL, file a complaint with the medical board if you were a patient and encourage others to do the same.

Other methods of
complaint/BBB: It may be a bit late, but you can also file a complaint with the BBB. Don't let this take the place of filing with the Medical Board, however. This method has a distinct advantage: When the record is checked, the number of complaints are listed and particular issues that were listed are tallied. Filing is simple and easy online.
- Victim Statement: I am asking for simple statements from victims to be published on this site. You need only be identified by initials. A page containing such a list will help to prove that there are MANY victims and will be helpful to gain media coverage and further support for disciplinary action. See more on the Victims page.
SUING / COMPENSATION:

Assets: It is rumored that most of Bittner's assests are held offshore. This
is very likely to be true, but does not mean that that there are no
stateside assets or that they are completely untouchable. It is difficult,
but not impossible and efforts are being made to locate and attach
them.

Law
suits: Atty Andrew Besser is not taking on any more clients
at this time. This does not mean that you have no chance to assist.
Please file a complaint with the Medical Board.

Suing: Cosmetic surgery malpractice is difficult to prosecute and juries are often
not sympathetic. That does not mean that you have not been harmed
and that you do not deserve to collect damages. You can file a small claims
case for up to $7500, the statute of limitations is 2 years for SC. You should have an evaluation from a reputable
doctor and estimate of costs to repair...at least.

Service: You must serve
the proper parties and prove your case. There is no guarantee that
you will collect your judgment, but it will be just one more bad mark
on the record. If you don't file and win, you will have little chance
of collecting anything if assets are obtained. UPDATE:The marshal failed to serve my documents, the office is closed and it may not be possible to pursue this avenue of recovery.
WHERE IS HE?
No one really knows for sure.
He owns a house in Brazil. Brazil is the lipo capital of the world....really.
He was in Bogota during his TRAINING. There is nothing to suggest he is there now.
He claimed he was going to South Africa. This is possible, but it is doubtful that he would be honest about revealing where he was really going.
There have been claims that he is in other countries. NONE of these claims have been vaildated and it is very unlikely that the person spreading these rumors would have any way to know even if he was there. Think about it. It is almost impossible for anyone but law enforcement to access information from airline mainifests. Passport information is not routinely sent back to the issuing agency while you are abroad. There has been no world news from another country reporting that he was actually seen. At this point ony a very well paid private investigator ($1000 minimum a day PLUS expenses), his attorney and accountant or a witness from his location is probably the only real support for such allegations. HIs attorney and accountant will doubtfully share that info with anyone. The federal government may have a bead on some of his offshore accounts, but that does not prove he is in those countries.
